THE heartbroken owner of a cat that went missing is appealing for information – 12 months after he disappeared.

Libs Davies got Smartie as a rescue kitten from Cats Protection League from a feral mum when he was four months old.

But just over 18 months later, on Friday, September 25, 2015, he went missing from her parents’ house in Fuller Drive, Wistaston.

Libs said: “Being a young, energetic male cat, he was always interested in exploring, climbing, digging, chasing the wildlife in playful games, but at the same time was most interested in food and sleeping at home.

“He had been staying with my parents while I was away and simply didn’t come home one evening.

“There was a cat in the area that had been attacking other cats and we think he may have been attacked and chased away from home.

“He is chipped and therefore we believe that he has been taken in by someone with good intentions, without them realising he is missing.

“A microchip is great but it is of course reliant on someone taking the cat to a vet, which people are not always aware of if they find a cat that they think is a stray.

“He was a brilliant little puss – we miss his presence daily.

“As it is a year since he went missing, we are keen to make people aware that he is still missing.”

Smartie was wearing a silver collar with a bell when he went missing.

He is black and white, and is neutered.

If you think you may have spotted Smartie, Pet Search, which is helping Libs, is asking people to take a picture so that the owners can see it if the cat is gone by the time they get there.

They are also asking people if they know of anyone who may be feeding him or who adopted a new cat around the time of Smartie’s disappearance to get in touch.

If you think you know where Smartie is, call Pet Search on 08004 320340 and quote reference 235007.
