TWO of Nantwich’s heroes from this summer’s Olympic and Paralympic Games will switch on the town’s Christmas lights next month.

Trampolinist Bryony Page, who won Britain’s first ever Olympic medal in the sport with a silver, and bronze-winning wheelchair racer Andrew Small will officially start Nantwich’s festive celebrations.

Nantwich Town Council has confirmed that the pair will join singer Thea Gilmore at the event on Saturday, November 19.

Thousands flocked to the town to see last year’s switch-on, and this year’s event is set to be bigger than ever with performances from local talents Josh Whittaker and Callum Wright from 4pm.

Nantwich Young Voices will follow ahead of a musical firework spectacular at 5.30pm, while there will be food, fairground rides and photo opportunities with Santa’s Polka Dot Pirate.
