AN application to build 997 new homes in Nantwich has been submitted on behalf of three national developers.

HOW Planning, acting on behalf of Taylor Wimpey, Redrow Homes and David Wilson Homes north west, has submitted a reserved matters application to build on land at Kingsley Fields.

The submission is the largest ever single reserved matters application proposed to Cheshire East Council, and follows approval of an outline scheme on the site in January 2016.

A mix of detached, semi-detached, mid-terrace homes and apartments would be built on the 58 hectare site, which is within walking distance to Nantwich town centre.

Jon Suckley, partner at HOW Planning, said: “The proposed development presents a fantastic opportunity for Cheshire East Council to assist with the delivery of much needed family homes in a highly sustainable location.

“The development by three of the UK’s leading residential developers have been carefully designed to a high standard, providing all the key elements to ensure the creation of a sustainable community.”

The development would also lead to investment at Reaseheath College, funding the building of an agricultural technology centre and halls of residence, plus the extension to the higher education and business centre, and the college’s health and fitness facilities.
