TV’S Kim Woodburn opened the new-look Co-op shop in Nantwich last week following a £750,000 refurbishment.

The Cronkinson Farm store was reopened by the TV personality, best known as one half of Kim and Aggie, on Thursday, November 3.

The store has increased its size by 50 per cent to 3,000 sq ft and extended its opening hours to 7am to 11pm, creating new jobs or additional hours for seven people. It will have a focus on fresh, healthy foods, meal ideas and essentials. It will also include an enhanced in-store bakery and Costa coffee.

Chris Moreton, store manager, said: “We are delighted to have made such a significant investment in Nantwich, re-launching a new-look Co-op food store is an exciting time for the whole team.

“The Co-op is moving forward with a clear purpose and momentum. The return to our ‘clover leaf’ design logo – first used in the 1960’s - aims to re-establish the Co-op as a centre for the community, and we want shoppers to know that they can become a co-owner and member of their Co-op.”

The new-look store will also bring a funding boost to local community groups through the Co-op’s new Membership scheme. Co-op members receive a five per cent reward on purchases of Co-op own-branded products and services, with a further one per cent going local causes and groups to make a difference in the community.

Groups initially set to benefit include: Hope House, Central Cheshire Buddy Scheme, and the British Red Cross – which is working to confront loneliness and social isolation in local communities.

Chris added: “We are also giving back to the community. Our members have an opportunity to make a difference locally simply by using their membership card when they shop with us and raise much needed funding for organisations who contribute to improving local life.”
