POLICE have released an e-fit of a man they would like to speak to after a 13-year-old girl was allegedly assaulted in Crewe.

The teenager was walking down the alleyway between Bateman Close and Richard Moon Street at approximately 5.30pm on Friday, December 9, when she was approached by a man.

Following a short conversation between the pair, the man then hugged the victim and indecently assaulted her, before walking off.

The man is described as white, with a pale complexion, of muscular build and approximately 6 ft 2 in tall.

At the time of the alleged incident he wore a black leather jacket, grey shirt, blue jeans, black shoes, and a gold watch on his left wrist, and smelt strongly of aftershave.

He spoke with a local accent, and was described as having a deep voice.

PC Paul Wright said: “The victim was understandably very upset by what happened.

“Fortunately she was not injured and is now receiving support from both officers and her family.

“We treat all incidents of this nature extremely seriously and we have been carrying out a number of enquiries in a bid to trace the offender.

“We are now appealing to local people who may have information, which could assist with our enquiries, to get in touch.

“The victim has provided a detailed description of the offender and has also worked with officers to produce an e-fit of the man.”

Anyone with any information in relation to the incident, or anyone who recognises the man, is urged to call Cheshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 1147 of December 9.

Alternatively, information can be left anonymously by calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
