RAIL passengers in Northwich, Winsford and Crewe are experiencing heavy delays amid 'disruption' between Liverpool and Crewe.
A signalling problem near Runcorn is causing cancellations, amendments and delays of up to an hour between Liverpool Lime Street and Crewe.
Issues began to impact London Midland and Virgin services at around 10.30am this morning, Thursday, and are not anticipated to be resolved before 1pm.
Virgin Trains customers may use Arriva Trains Wales between Chester and Crewe, and Merseyrail between Liverpool Lime Street and Chester.
London Midland customers can use tickets for road transport between Liverpool South Parkway and Crewe.
They can also use Arriva Trains Wales between Chester and Crewe, and Merseyrail between Liverpool and Chester.
