THE next thrilling adventure brought to you by Nantwich Players this season is, The Wolves Of Willoughby Chase.

A youth production with an expert blend of melodrama, comedy, adventure and a little spookiness, it is directed by Simon Piasecki and Shelley Piasecka.

There are wolves outside the walls of Willoughby Chase, but for cousins Bonnie and Sylvia, the real danger lies inside. Their wicked governess Miss Slighcarp is working with a network of criminals, forgers and snitches to carry out a terrible plan.

Set in an alternative 1832, in which Good King James III is on the throne, and Britain is ravaged by wolves which have migrated through the newly-opened Channel Tunnel, The Wolves of Willoughby Chase is a brilliantly inventive and imaginative offering from classic children’s author Joan Aiken.

Directors Simon and Shelley said: “We have deployed a large cast in the role of Chorus and do this in the tradition of classical Greek Theatre, where chorus is in and of itself a key ‘character’ - in this way our choral cast are also all crucial, shifting from Wolves, to trees.”

Performances start at 7.45pm. Tickets priced at £8 will be available from Nantwich tourist office from February 28. Call 01270 600727 or order online at nantwichtowncouncil.gov.uk
