THE team at a cardiac care charity is celebrating after being awarded a £1,000 grant by Vodafone in Crewe.

Members of staff at the branch, in Market Street, have chosen North Staffs Heart Committee to receive the money as part of the Vodafone Community Connection Award.

The charity aims to improve cardiac care by providing superior equipment to hospitals for treatment and diagnostics.

Emma Robertson, deputy manager of North Staffs Heart Committee, said: “We’re delighted that the Vodafone store in Crewe has chosen to support the North Staffs Heart Committee fund with this generous donation of £1,000.

“The money from this fund will help us to provide state-of-the art equipment and comfortable facilities for patients with heart conditions who are cared for at the University Hospitals of North Midlands.”

The award is one of more than 100 to have been awarded across the UK by Vodafone over the past three years.

Seth Stahl, store manager at Vodafone Crewe, said: “We’re thrilled to have been able to choose North Staffs Heart Committee, a charity which has provided care to a lot of the team’s close family and friends.

“This money will help them reach their goal of providing a new type of heart scanner specifically designed for children.”
