A 19-YEAR-OLD man was assaulted and had his mobile phone stolen by a gang of men during a robbery in the early hours of the morning in Nantwich.
At approximately 3.30am on Wednesday, March 1 the man, aged 19, was walking with his friend from Bowers Row towards the High Street.
As they neared to where it narrows into a ginnel they were set up on by around six to eight men who were wearing hoodies.
The victim was hit to the side of the head and one of the offenders ran off with his phone.
The victim suffered minor injuries.
Officers in Crewe are now appealing for witnesses.
Anyone who may have witnessed the incident take place or have any information to help officers identify the men is asked to contact Cheshire Police on 101 quoting incident 597 of March 1.
