CREWE and Nantwich MP Edward Timpson has tweeted from inside House of Commons, after a terror incident which has seen at least two people killed.
Metropolitan Police have confirmed that an officer was stabbed in the Houses of Parliament in Westminster following a man driving into pedestrians in a vehicle on Westminster Bridge.
The force has confirmed that they are treating the incident as a terror attack.
The news broke at around 3pm and reports state that 12 people have been injured and two killed.
The attacker who stabbed the policeman and also mounted the pavement in a vehicle and mowed down several people, was shot dead by police.
Members of Parliament, including Mr Timpson, as well as staff in Parliament remain in lockdown.
Mr Timson tweeted several messages just after 5.25pm today, confirming that he was sat on the front bench of House of Commons chamber awaiting further instructions from security staff.
He confirmed his staff were also safe.
