Arsonists set fire to large tree on old school grounds
ARSONISTS are believed to have targeted a very large tree in Crewe.
Firefighters were called to the old Lodgefield School site near Sharnbrook Drive at 8.25pm yesterday.
A spokesman for Cheshire Fire Service said: “Two fire engines attended from Crewe but because of the size of the tree, it was difficult for firefighters to access ii. Because of the location away from the roadway, firefighters used two extra long hose reels to extinguish the fire.”
The fire is believed to have been started deliberately so anyone with any information is urged to call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111 or Cheshire Police on 101.
