FOUR fire engines were required to tackle a fire involving 200 tonnes of waste in Crewe last night.
Cheshire Fire and Rescue sent crews from Crewe, Sandbach and Middlewich to a landfill site in Maw Green Road at 8.51pm on May 26, along with the high volume pump and supporting fire engine from Congleton.
Firefighters used two hose reel jets, covering jets and one main jet to bring the blaze under control.
Once the fire was out a thermal imaging camera was used to check there were no hotspots.
Crews remained at the scene for three hours 15 minutes.
