THE Federation of Small Businesses is hosting an apprenticeship event in Middlewich.

The not-for-profit organisation has team up with Total People, based in King Street for a one off event on Wednesday, June 28 for businesses considering taking on an apprentice.

The event is open to all small businesses in Cheshire and is tailored towards those who are considering apprentices for the first time, but it is also to those who have previously done so.

Simon Edmondson, FSB regional chairman for Cheshire, said: “This event is aimed at encouraging small firms to make the leap and start working with apprentices.

“We’ll be looking at some of the latest changes around funding, as well as basics around finding, recruiting and employing an apprentice and making sure workplaces are ready for a young person.

“We will also be debunking some of the myths around apprentices, hearing form employers who have done it before, as well an actual apprentice.”

The event is free but attendees must reserve their place for catering purposes via eventbrite.co.uk/e/recruiting-an-apprentice-for-small-businesses-tickets-34905612627.

It takes places between 6.30pm and 8.45pm at Total People, Group House, King Street, CW10 9LZ.
