A CONSULTATION seeking east Cheshire residents’ views on proposed cuts to the borough’s bus service ends next week, with just a few days remaining to have your say.

Cheshire East Council is cutting and altering services in a bid to save more than £1.5 million by April 2018.

Under current proposals out for consultation, only the 3, 84 and 85 services remain unaffected in Crewe.

The 1B service between Crewe and Nantwich stands to be withdrawn, while the 42 between Crewe and Congleton would see changes.

There could also be a reduction in Little Bus services, better known as a dial-a-ride system.

Cllr David Brown, CEC deputy leader and cabinet member for transport, said: “Changing the way services operate is always a very complex issue.

“Naturally, the council wants to weigh up the needs of all our service users for such an important consultation, so we are determined to take every possible opportunity to hear what the public has to say.

“We will still be investing more than £2m in subsidised bus services.”

The consultation period closes on Wednesday, July 26.
