A FATHER-OF-TWO involved in the crane collapse incident in Crewe last month has died in hospital, police have confirmed.

At 4:30pm on Wednesday 21 June, police were called to a new build site in Dunwoody Way, following reports of a collapsed Crane.

Firefighters were called to assist police and paramedics at the crane where three people were trapped, and two were later confirmed to have been killed in the incident.

David Webb, 43, from St Neots, was taken to hospital and police have today confirmed that he has died as a result of his injuries.

A spokesman for Cheshire Police said: "We continue to work alongside our partners at the Health and Safety Executive, Local Authority and Building Control to establish the full circumstances of the incident."

David, originally from Northampton, has been described by his family as a 'fun-loving character'.

They said: "Dave died from doing a job that he loved and was very passionate about.

"Dave was a fun-loving character who lived his life to the full. He was known for his large personality and sung his way through life.

"He will be sadly missed by his partner Nathalie, children Maisy and Charlie, his mum Jenny, his sister Julie, his brother Mark, their families and his many friends. It's a heartbreaking time for the family as we lost Dave's beloved Father Alan six days before Dave passed away."
