A FIRE at Leighton Hospital led to two fire crews being called out yesterday evening, Monday.

The engines, from Crewe, attended the small laundry room fire shortly after 6pm.

A Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: "A small smouldering fire in a laundry room was believed to have been caused by a build up of cotton and fluff.

"Firefighters used a hose reel jet to put out the fire."
