THREE men from Crewe have been sentenced to a combined total of 10 years in prison after admitting their part in an incident of violent disorder in Crewe.

On Thursday 16 February, around 10.30pm, the gang targeted the victim at their home address while armed with weapons.

They then proceeded to assault the victim, before causing extensive damage to the victim’s vehicles, patio doors, and kitchen and then fleeing the scene.

The 52-year-old victim suffered significant head injuries that required hospital treatment.

The three men appeared at Warrington Crown Court yesterday, September 7, to be sentenced.

Bobby Palin, 30, from Badger Avenue, Crewe, was sentenced to 40 months, Kieran Metcalfe, 31, from underwood Lane, Crewe, was sentenced to 40 months and David Hamlett, 35 from Lingfield Drive, Crewe, was sentenced to 40 months.

Det Insp Duncan Gouck said: “Palin, Metcalfe and Hamlett had no regard for the victim, his family or the local community when they committed their act of violence.

“The gang thought they were above the law, and I want the community of Crewe to take comfort in the fact that these criminals are now behind bars.

“I hope that the sentence handed to the men by the judge shows that nobody is above the law, violent crime will not be tolerated in Crewe, and anyone caught taking the law into their own hands will be made to face the consequences of their actions.

“Information from the public is vital in bringing criminals to justice and I want to reassure the public that if you provide information, we will act on it.”
