TWO teenage girls have been arrested after graffiti was daubed on benches at Crewe Cemetery.
The girls, both aged 15 and from Crewe, were arrested on Thursday on suspicion of racially aggravated criminal damage.
They have since been released under investigation pending further enquiries.
Crewe Cemetery was targeted on Tuesday evening when offensive graffiti was sprayed on benches within the Garden of Remembrance area.
Insp Penny Jones, from Crewe Local Policing Unit, said at the time: βItβs despicable to see that vandals have stooped so low as to target a Garden of Remembrance. Hate crime, in any form, is not acceptable and will not be tolerated in our community.β
