CREWE Vagrants Squash Club has received a £500 contribution from homebuilder Taylor Wimpey North West.

The contribution will pay for travel costs as the team compete in the North West Counties Squash League Division 1.

Mike Hobson, club chairman, said: “The team has done incredibly well to be promoted into such a competitive league.

“The players are excited to challenge themselves and compete at this higher level and it’s good for them to not have the added pressure of worrying about getting to and from matches and the cost of this. It’s a generous donation and we’re very thankful.”

Crewe Vagrants practise close to Taylor Wimpey’s Willowbrook Grange development, which is situated near Jack Mills Way.

Stuart Craig, head of sales for Taylor Wimpey North West, added: “We’re always happy to contribute to great causes like this and it’s wonderful to see a local team excelling so much in its field.

“It’s important for us to support the communities we’re a part of and championing sport is the perfect way to encourage teamwork, health and fitness.

“We wish the team the best of luck in the league and we’ll be keeping an eye-out on the leaderboard.”
