FIREFIGHTERS were called to a canal boat today after it began to lift.
At 2.30pm Cheshire Police received reports of safety concerns at a boat in the Trent and Mersey Canal.
Police then called the fire service who gained access using water safety equipment.
It was discovered that nobody was on board the boat and the incident has now been passed on to the Canal and River Trust
A trust spokesman said: "We received reports of an unsecured boat taking on water.
"It has now been secured.
"We have contacted the owner about the situation and we now await their response."
