SIX new destinations are being added to the growing network out of Liverpool John Lennon airport, starting in October.

Operated by Ryanair, this latest expansion will bring the budget airline's total number of routes served from Liverpool to 38.

The new services are all due to commence from the end of October to George Best Belfast City Airport, the Hungarian capital Budapest, Tenerife and Fuerteventura in The Canaries and Bydgoszcz and Lodz in Poland.

Services to Grenoble and Salzburg are due to commence in December for this Winter's ski season.

Caroline Baldwin, Ryanair's UK Head of Sales & Marketing, said: "Ryanair is Liverpool's largest airline and these eight new routes will further boost holiday and tourism links from John Lennon Airport.

"This announcement also marks the first Ryanair flights from any UK airport to the Canary Islands.

"To celebrate these new routes, Ryanair is giving away 250,000 seats from Liverpool for just £10 including taxes and charges, and we advise all passengers to log onto www.ryanair.com immediately, as these low fares will be snapped up in record time."

Neil Pakey, Managing Director, for John Lennon Airport, said: "These new services once again offer passengers from throughout the North West a range of destinations that will appeal to a cross section of travellers. With a mix of Winter sun and ski destinations included in this latest announcement, the region's leisure travellers can look forward to further winter breaks taking advantage of Ryanair's low fares.
