FIREFIGHTERS rescued a casualty from a flat fire in Nantwich on Sunday, January 28.

Two fire engines from Crewe and one from Nantwich were sent out to a property in Jackson Avenue, after a fire involving a cooker in a second-storey flat.

Firefighters rescued one casualty while a second was given first aid after suffering from smoke inhalation.

Crews, two wearing breathing apparatus, used a hose reel jet and a large fan to put out the fire.
