AN 89-year-old woman has died as a result of a crash in Hungerford Road, Crewe, on Sunday evening.
The woman was hit by a blue Mini, the driver of which stopped at the scene around 6.40pm on Sunday, February 18.
She was taken to hospital, but sadly died as a result of her injuries yesterday, Wednesday.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the fatal incident.
The driver, a 28-year-old man has been arrested and released under investigation on suspicion of driving without due care and attention and driving whilst under the influence of drugs.
Sergeant Neil Farnworth said: “We are looking for anyone who may have seen the incident, or its aftermath to come forward to police.
"The collision happened by the pedestrian crossing and we are keen to speak to anyone who may be able to help with the investigation.
