Liverpool airport announce new routes

THREE new routes from Liverpool John Lennon Airport to the Capital of Portugal, Lisbon, Innsbruck, Western Austria and Valencia in Spain have been announced.

It is the first time that Liverpool has been linked with Lisbon and Innsbruck.

The easyJet service from Liverpool to Lisbon begins on November 2 and will serve the Capital four times a week offering passengers in the North West the perfect winter city break.

The route to Innsbruck will commence on January 8 and will operate three times a week.

It is the ideal place for skiers and snowboarders alike to reach the heart of Alps.

The route to Valencia is being run by Ryanair and will operate four times weekly from 31 October.

Neil Pakey, Managing Director of Liverpool John Lennon Airport said: "These new destinations that will appeal to both the business and leisure communities.

"Lisbon in particular means yet another key European capital city will have direct access to the region ahead of the City's Capital of Culture year in 2008."

David Osborne, easyJet UK General Manager, said: "easyJet is delighted to be launching these two new routes. The new Innsbruck service is great news for those wanting to ski in Austria this winter, whilst the Lisbon route will not only be popular for city breaks but will also provide a direct link for businesses between the two cities."

In October easyJet will be celebrating its 10th birthday after operations began at Liverpool John Lennon Airport in 1997.
