MIDDLEWICH Library is offering free courses on how to stay safe online.

Librarian Emma Drakes said: "We’ve all heard the scare stories of stolen identities, viruses caused by merely clicking on an email link and of those dangerous people lurking in chatrooms.

"However there are a few simple steps you can take to ensure that you do remain safe online, and the staff at Middlewich Library want to help you understand all of those steps.

"We currently have spaces available for the Learn My Way computer course – Staying Safe in your Digital World – and it is absolutely free to join up and take part. In this short course you will learn how to keep you and your family safe in your digital world.

"It covers ways to avoid your personal information being shared on the internet, how to protect yourself when using social media and how to avoid scam telephone calls.

"The course only takes a few hours to complete and will give you complete peace of mind when using the internet in the future. "

If you want to know more about the course, or any of the other free computer courses on offer, contact the library on 01606 288070.
