CREWE woman Olivia White is used to organising charity events.

However she’s branched out into the world of rock and roll - to raise awareness about an important cause.

Olivia has celebrated multicultural arts through her Majenta Dance Company and previously been involved with Crewe Town Council organising the International Festival and the Nantwich Words and Music Festival.

But now she’s joined others to organise a concert to raise awareness of domestic violence.

She told the Guardian: “Rather than a cultural display of dance and global music, this will be a rock concert featuring local bands.

“The Rigger Live Music Venue in Marsh Parade, Newcastle under Lyme will play host to a special Tribute Event in honour of the late local musician, Pete Davegun this Saturday.

“Due to his tragic demise in 2013, the local born and bred musician has inspired a group of family and friends to collaborate on organising the event to support and raise the profile of male domestic violence.

“Mr Davegun was tragically subjected to an horrific attack in which he was beaten to death by a former girlfriend.

“The night will include a multi-band line up of Stoke based regulars whom all knew Pete personally.

"However more importantly the event will raise funds for the UK wide charity, Mankind Initiative. There will be speakers present and local dignitaries.”

Tickets are £5 and doors open at 7pm.
