AN unexpected warm spell thawed this year's Frosty Bike Ride and helped the Children's Adventure Farm Trust to raise a sunny £4,000.

The lanes of Cheshire were lined with 100 cyclists, who donned fluffy Easter chick costumes to take on one of four routes on Sunday, March 25.

In conjunction with the Altrincham-based Timperley Boneshakers, the annual event saw cyclists ride between 10 and 80 miles, followed by a barbecue and Easter egg hunt at CAFT's Millington base.

Challenges Fundraiser at CAFT, Jure Modic, comments: “This was a fabulous event, everyone had the most amazing day.

"The weather was much warmer than we could ever have hoped for, and it was lovely to see so many Easter chicks having so much fun.

"The money raised will help us to change the lives of ill, disabled and disadvantaged children from all over our region, we really can’t thank everyone involved enough.”
