A KITCHEN fire started in Crewe yesterday, Wednesday, after plastic was left on top of a cooker.
A fire engine from Crewe attended the incident in Marple Crescent at 4.57pm, finding that the occupants had put out the fire with a dry powder extinguisher.
A Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: "Crews used a thermal imaging camera to ensure that the kitchen was safe.
"One person suffered minor smoke inhalation, he was treated by firefighters at the scene."
