EMERGENCY services have reunited a family of ducks after an incident in Nantwich this morning.
At around 9.40am, Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service teamed up with RSCPA officers to rescue the nine ducklings which had become trapped down a drain in Western Avenue.
Rescuers lifted a grid to free the ducks and put them safely in a transportation cage.
The mother duck was stood nearby so firefighters and an RSPCA officer used the noisy ducklings to coax her in the direction of Nantwich Lake, which was hundreds of yards away.
Traffic was stopped in both directions to allow the mother duck to cross it safely.
A series of videos, published on the official Facebook page of Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service, showed that after their successful rescue, the young ducklings were gently lowered into the water, on a quiet part of the lake, to be reunited with their mother.
Firefighters were in attendance for around an hour.
