Ryanair has announced a new direct link from Liverpool to the German ski resort of Friedrichshafen.

The airline has also announced that all passengers who book their seats to the slopes before September 30 will be able to bring their ski equipment free of charge.

Just four weeks ago, Ryanair unveiled its biggest-ever ski programme with 58 direct routes from the UK to European ski airports.

Demand has been so strong that Ryanair has announced three additional new routes to the snow - Liverpool to Friedrichshafen, Stockholm to Grenoble and Bournemouth to Milan Bergamo.

The announcement of yet another new Ryanair route from Liverpool comes just weeks after the Irish airline announced a host of new services - to Belfast, Budapest, Bydgoszcz, Fuerteventura, Lodz, Alicante and Tenerife - and reopened services to Grenoble and Salzburg for this year's ski season.

Ryanair now operates 40 routes from Liverpool and will carry over 2.5m passengers in the coming year, supporting 2,500 jobs in the North West.
