ROMANTIC John Hutton wanted to do something special for his wife Allison to celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary.

Despite now living in Winsford Grange Care Home, he secretly planned a surprise meal, with help from Ester Lloyd, the home's activity co-ordinator.

Allison, who visits John every day, said she was over the moon to be wooed with a romantic meal.

The couple got married on October 31, 1959 in Largs, a town on the Firth of Clyde in North Ayrshire, Scotland where they were both born, went to school and grew up together.
