STEVE Jones is likely to be Crewe's number one target when the loan market reopens next week.
The Burnley forward is keen to come back as Alex are now forced to look at short-term options.
"Steve is the type were looking for, a proven player," admitted Steve Holland.
"We'll push on in that direction now.
"We've got a weeks' grace and we'll pick up on it again next Thursday.
"Steve is the most likely, he rang Neil Baker the other day and now the market has closed, Burnley will know where they are.
"Hopefully we can do something next week.
"We spent some time yesterday coming up with some new names so we're in a situation next week to bring one or two in."
