LUCKY pupils from a Northwich school were picked to star in a children’s TV programme which aired on CBeebies recently.

Something Special – featuring well-known children’s character Mr Tumble – filmed an episode at The Russett School, Weaverham.

Colton Pearce-Howman in year three and Reggie Light in year two became stars of the small screen as they helped Justin learn all about getting your eyes tested.

While it’s not the first time The Russett School’s pupils have featured on the programme, it is the first time the school itself has been shown.

Explaining all about the exciting event, which was filmed across one day in October, a spokesperson for the school said: “They came to us again and said ‘would you like to be part of the programme?’.

“So, they came into school and did auditions with the children.

“This is the first time it’s been filmed in the school; it was lovely that it was held here.

“The children were so excited.”

The episode aired on January 16 and the children all watched it in their classrooms, thrilled to see their very own school on TV.
