A DJ is looking to set a new world record at the Piña Colada Festival.

The popular event returns tomorrow with cocktails, dancing and live music.

Among those performing is DJ Max Mutant, who has decided to attempt a world record for the most number of people singing Escape, better known as the piña colada song.

“I saw a post on Facebook saying could we do it? I was already playing the event so why not make it something for the community to get together for!” said Max, 21.

“This year’s attempt is unofficial but hopefully people will get behind the idea and we can go for the real one next year!

“Piña Colada Festival has just grown and grown and is now the party of the year in the north west! So am I excited? Yeah I am!

“I have no idea how many people to expect, I’m hoping to fill Apple Market Place so make sure to get down to Northwich.”

Max will be performing in Apple Market Street at 12pm on Saturday (August 19) where he will attempt to set the unofficial world record.

He will be joined there by some of Mid-Cheshire Youth Theatre’s Frozen cast, including Elsa and Anna.

Also performing in Apple Market will be Steel Express and Cuban Mojito.

Max will then be back on stage at 5pm in Witton Street where visitors will be able to take part in a variety of Caribbean-themed games including piña colada crazy golf, a coconut shy, limbo, and hook a flamingo.
