WINSFORD’s own X Factor sensation, Sophie Bond, has agreed to perform at a charity event in the town.

Sophie made the whole nation sit up and listen when she wowed judges with her shock of red hair and sassy rendition of Dolly Parton’s Nine to Five at her audition for the ITV hit show back in 2011.

She’s now agreed to perform at the Brighton Belle, on Station Road, as the main act at a family fun day in aid of the pub’s headline charity, MacMillan Cancer Support.

The event kicks off at noon on Saturday, August 26, where there’ll also be DJs, arts and craft stalls, a bouncy castle, balloon modelling, a tombola, and a magic show.

Broughton Belle general manager, Will Goodwin, says: “It’s our first proper event since Covid, and it’s going to be pretty big. Sophie is amazing.

“MacMillan is our partner charity, so if we can put on a fun event for the whole community while raising some money for them, everyone’s a winner.”
