NORTHWICH residents can make their own luxury festive wreaths this year under the eagle eye of a former Hong Kong five-star hotel head florist.

Lou Johnson has over 30 years’ experience working in luxury hotels and high street florists, and more recently, taught floristry in a further education college.

She’ll be running the three-hour workshops on behalf of 1st Hartford Scouts as part of their fundraising drive for a group trip to Switzerland in 2025.

The workshops take place at Hartford Scout Hut on Bradburns Lane, cost £40 per person, all materials are provided, and every student get to take home their unique and luxurious creation to adorn their front door.

Lou says the classes are ‘the perfect way to get your Christmas celebrations underway’.

“She added: “You’ll be welcomed with a festive tipple and nibbles, and we’ll have plenty of festive decorations and music playing throughout the workshops.

“All materials will be supplied for you to be able to make your own unique and perfect Christmas wreath to take home.

“And those who come to the workshops will not only enjoy a little bit of festive time, but they’ll also be kick-starting the fundraising for the Scouts and Explorers’ trip to Kandersteg in Switzerland.”

The first workshops takes place on Friday, November 24, between 7pm and 10pm, and you can book your place here.

There’ll be two more on Saturday, November 25, between 10am and 1pm, and 2pm and 5pm.

Ian Johnson, who’s in charge of the Scouts Switzerland trip, said: “These young people have the opportunity of a life-time with this exciting, international adventure.

“I know these workshops will be a fantastic start to their fundraising programme.”
