Winsford Vets undergoing festive facelift to improve facilities

Work has started to increase the amount of consulting rooms at Winsford Veterinary Surgery, taking the number from three to four.

The additional capacity will help the vets to meet growing demand for appointments from pet owners.

The refurbishment, which also includes a makeover of the reception area, is expected to be finished early in the new year.

Alexandra Mollart, the practice manager of Winsford Vets, in High Street, is one of several staff at the surgery excited to see the project take shape.

She said: “We already have a dedicated consultation room for our veterinary nurses, but we are so busy that our nurses and vets have had to juggle the space.

“This investment will help us to meet the high demand for appointments from clients. Everyone is really excited, and this will be a lovely morale boost for the team."

The extra consulting room will be a welcome addition to the facilities at Winsford Vets, which also includes a large operating theatre.

The surgery, which is part of Willows Veterinary Group and VetPartners, is stocked with high-tech equipment such as an ECG machine, digital X-ray and ultrasonography facilities.

The practice also has a dedicated laboratory as well as a cat-only ward to help feline patients feel safe and calm during their visit.

Winsford Vets has also launched a recruitment drive for another vet as the team responds to growing demand for appointments and services offered by the practice.

The surgery is also keeping the memory alive of much-missed branch manager Fiona Hughes, who sadly died earlier this year.

Alexandra added: "We lost Fiona this year and she is very missed. We have a memory tree in our reception, which was part of the Christmas Tree Festival at St Mary’s Church in Nantwich, for St Luke’s Hospice which cared for Fiona.

"We invited clients to hang photos of their pets on the tree and there has been an amazing response to it so we have decided we will do it every year."
