James Holt performing at Davenham Players Theatre on March 16

Next Saturday night (March 16), Bolton-born singer-songwriter James Holt will be making his debut at the Church Street venue. 

According to promoter Andrew Whalley, Holt has 'long been championed by music industry giants, such as legendary producer Brian Eno'.

Andrew added: "James comes with an arresting voice reminiscent of John Lennon or early Bob Dylan, wily lyrics and an upbeat weave of rock, prog and blues.

"The craftsmanship and energy of his songwriting translates effortlessly to his stage performance, having performed at the UK’s most prestigious venues such as the Royal Albert Hall and sellout shows at the Deaf Institute, Manchester, and Hope & Anchor, London – it’s easy to see why his remarkable music is turning heads."

Holt will be joined by 'builder by day, musician by night' James Biddulph Jr, a regular visitor to the theatre.

Biddulph Jr has been playing for almost 30 years, entertaining audiences as a soloist and as member of two bands he's part of.

Andrew added: "He became a semi-pro just over 10 years ago. No doubt the night’s tunes will feature both solo work and some recent releases from the band Brand New Mornings.
