A DOG training school did the county proud at Crufts.
Cheshire K9 Training took to the famed green carpet at the world’s most famous dog show this week.
They competed in the Obreedience category which sees teams of four handlers and their dogs, which must all be of the same breed, complete various tasks.
Having earned their place in the final, they ended finishing third overall.
Founder of K9 Cheshire Training Heather Gibbs said: “It was fierce competition with the best 10 teams out there on the green carpet.
“We completed the heelwork section as a synchronised team of dogs and handlers and following that, went onto our set exercises.
“We were the only team yesterday to score 10/10 for all our set exercises, which we were all thrilled with!
“We had such lovely support from lots of club members who came to watch and cheer us on, we are glad we did you proud.”
Cheshire K9 Training is based at Chelford Village Hall, having been founded by Heather eight years ago.
She was joined at Crufts by fellow trainer Jodie Coutts, friend Jo Hibbert and club member Lewis Evans, who is just 17.
Of course, the team is nothing without their canine companions – Amber, Tain, Alfie and Isla – all cocker spaniels.
Collectively, they call themselves The Woodcockers.
Crufts continues at the NEC Birmingham this weekend (March 9 and 10), with many other Cheshire dog owners competing across the arenas.
