MORE than 2,000 children, parents and carers turned out to enjoy National Playday in Shavington.
The crowds gathered at the village leisure centre to enjoy an array of games.
This year’s theme was ‘Give it a Go’, which accounted for the presence of wierd and whacky activities including circus and percussion workshops, balloon modelling, climbing, face painting, rodeo and arts and crafts.
Mayor of Crewe and Nantwich Cllr Brian Silvester said: “The day was a great success. It was wonderful to see so many children of all ages enjoying themselves in the sun and taking risks in a controlled setting, it demonstartes what can be achieved if we all work together.”
