CHESHIRE Police Authority has started the process to find a new police chief for the county, following Peter Fahy’s appointment as Chief Constable of Greater Manchester.
Authority chairman and Crewe county councillor Peter Nurse said: “We are seeking high calibre applications for the post of Chief Constable as we need someone who can lead a force which is committed to delivering effective and citizen focused policing.
“We are looking for an experienced and successful leader to work with the Police Authority, the public and our staff to make the people of Cheshire safe and feel safe.”
In recent years the Authority has sought to address funding issues and has invested in improving policing for the people of Cheshire.
Peter Nurse added: “It is time to build on that investment and become an even better performing force.”
The job has been advertised in policing press and following a rigorous process, the Authority’s selection panel will be able to announce the appointment of the new Chief Constable on October 24.
