A CREWE girl is soon to find out whether she’s won a part in the New Vic Theatre’s Christmas production of Arabian Nights.
Shannon Webb, aged 11, has been taking part in the Arabian Nights Summer School this week, at the end of which 18 young hopefuls will be offered roles.
Taking Shannon and the other youngsters through their paces is ex-Coronation Street and Dinnerladies star Shobna Gulati, who’s leading the dancing.
Shobna’s teaming up with Arabian Nights director Paul Warwick and musical director Malcolm Newton to give the children a taste of working in a theatre.
Paul said: “This is an exciting opportunity for children to explore the different types of performance that will feature in the Christmas show, from traditional Eastern music and dance to puppetry and mask work.”
Arabian Nights runs from November 22 to January 17.
