FOOTBALLER Wes Brown and his bride Leanne Wassell have tied the knot at Peckforton Castle.
The Manchester United star married Leanne in a civil ceremony at the award-winning castle on Saturday June 13.
Cheshire East Council’s registrars worked closely with the happy couple to ensure the ceremony was exactly to their requirements.
Crewe Councillor Brian Silvester said: “Wes and Leanne have found their dream wedding venue here in Cheshire East and we’ve been able to help them make the day one that both they and their family and friends will look back upon with many happy memories.
“Cheshire East has established itself as a firm favourite for weddings - even managing to sustain its popularity despite falling marriage numbers nationally.
"We have more than 60 premises approved for marriage and civil partnership offering facilities from small intimate venues to stately homes.”
Mr Brown said: “We wanted a special venue and Peckforton is perfect.
"The team at Cheshire East were really helpful, providing us with full details on what a civil wedding entails and how the ceremony could be tailor-made for us.”
