BEAUTY therapy students from Crewe delivered treatments to Cheshire carers at a plush hotel and spa as part of a double-header of community activities.
Up to a dozen students spent a day at The Cottons Hotel and Spa in Knutsford delivering manicures, pedicures and facial treatments.
It was the first time that South Cheshire College students had used the venue as a base, but was the latest link-up with Cheshire Carers. Cheshire Carers support relatives or friends who need help due to illness, disability or age.
It is a countywide service and is part of the Princess Royal Trust for Carers network, the largest provider of carer support services in the UK.
In a separate event, students also delivered treatments at St Luke’s Hospice in Winsford for people suffering with long term illnesses.
The hospice provides compassionate care for people suffering from a life-threatening illness in a calm, loving and homely environment.
Sandra Smith, senior beauty lecturer, said: “The students were delighted to be able to deliver treatments at The Cottons which was an excellent venue.
“We have built up a very positive relationship with Cheshire Carers and were delighted to be able to help out again at these two events in the community.
“Events like this are ideal for our beauty therapy students who need to gain experience of treating new clients and build up their skills and confidence.
“Hopefully Cheshire Carers and patients at St Luke’s Hospice enjoyed the treatments they received and we look forward to doing more of the same in the future.”
