A DECISION on plans to demolish a Nantwich supermarket and put a megastore in its place has been deferred.
Sainsbury’s wants to flatten its Middlewich Road store along with the vacant Fairway Suithouse building next door, and replace it with a 30,862 sq ft, two-storey mega-shop.
The proposal went before Cheshire East’s planning committee yesterday, Wednesday, which postponed making a decision to allow for further discussion with the supermarket giant.
A council spokesman confirmed that a site visit would also take place.
