TWO Cheshire businesses have combined work and play to help a Nantwich charity.
Jones Sheridan Financial Consulting and Banks Sheridan Chartered Accountants have been supporters of the Wingate Centre in Wrenbury for more than three years.
And the two firms recently made yet another substantial donation.
The Wingate Special Children’s Trust is an independent charity specialising in offering children and young people with profound physical and learning disabilities the chance of a residential holiday.
The latest string of events hosted by the two companies included a successful golf day on December 16 at Crewe Golf Club.
This was organised by Andrew Beattie, director of Jones Sheridan, and Stuart Banks, managing director of Banks Sheridan.
Other fund-raising efforts included two places in the gruelling Nantwich Triathlon in September.
In excess of £1,400 was raised in total from the two events.
David Williams, managing director of Sheridan Financial Consulting, said: "I really appreciate the work that the Wingate Trust does - it provides first class service and facilities for disabled and disadvantaged children.
"The reality check for me as a family man is that I have been very fortunate to have children who are blessed with good health, and unfortunately not everyone is that lucky.
"We are always more than happy to help & be involved with all that the Wingate does. I only wish we could do more."
Hannah Ward-Salt, fundraising officer at the Wingate Centre, said: “We are absolutely overwhelmed with the support that these two companies offer us and would like to extend our thanks for the continued efforts, especially in the current economic climate.
“As we are an independent charity, we rely heavily on generous gestures such as this.
"I can assure everyone at Jones Sheridan and Banks Sheridan that this money will be used to update our equipment and facilities here at the centre, for the direct benefit of the hundreds of children who visit us each year.”
