HULL'S finest exports The Paddingtons headline at The Box in Crewe on Friday December 4.
Formed in 2002, the five-piece smashed their way onto the UK music scene with their infectious blend of raw anthemic punk/pop.
Taking no prisoners in their live shows, they fast established themselves as the darlings of the London indie scene exploding at that time.
They were soon after scooped up and signed to Alan McGee’s’ Poptones label.
Favoured by ex-Libertines frontman Pete Doherty, they have since toured with his current band Babyshambles and have supported the likes of The Cribs and The View.
Their first release, double A-side 21 and Some Old Girl (2004) took them to 47 in the British single charts.
The success of this release opened doors for the band and in 2005, the band signed a deal with Mercury Records.
They were thrown into the 'grot n' roll' scene that sprang from the East London Libertines tribe.
And in late 2005 they released their debut album, the critically acclaimed First Comes First, produced by Owen Morris - the man behind Oasis' Definitely Maybe.
Sold out tours followed and the band's explosive antics on stage earned them a loyal fanbase that is still with them.
After parting ways with Mercury the band released their follow up album No Mundane Options on their own record label, Mama Bear records in 2008.
Over the past year, the band has seen some changes to their line up, with the addition of Stuee Bevan on guitar, replacing long time member Marv Hines.
The Paddingtons have quickly put Stuee to use in the studio as they are writing and recording material for an EP and an album to be released in 2010.
The EP, produced by Anthony Rossomando and Didz Hammond of Dirty Pretty Things, is set for a February release and will contain five tracks, including a duet with anti-folk crooner Adam Green.
The band are currently touring Germany and the UK and are set to enter the next decade with a renewed love for rock 'n' roll, ready to create the next chapter in the band's history.
Support for this show comes from Sandbach band The Academics, along with the The Fortunas and The Way from Stoke.
Tickets are £7 and available from www.theboxcrewe.co.uk. Doors are from 8pm.
