Crewe Students Pass On Their Knowledge To Teachers

GRAPHICS students have teamed up with teachers from a Crewe high school in a special knowledge-sharing session.

Four art teachers from King’s Grove High School dropped into South Cheshire College to learn more about the Photoshop package with graphics and digital media students.

The special link-up was organised through the college’s school liaison team and provided an opportunity for teachers to find out more about Photoshop, which the students use on a regular basis.

The group of teachers included Emily Abberley, Sarah Tomczyk, Rob Harrison and Katie Grimes.

Mike Smith, graphics lecturer at South Cheshire College, said: “The students worked closely with the teachers to get to grips with Photoshop and it was a very productive session.”

Students who took part in the exercise were Craig Daniels, Rachel Dunning, James Luisis, Christopher Pearce, Jack Taylor and Charlotte Walsh.

Charlotte also took the opportunity to ask the group of teachers about routes into secondary school teaching.

Mike added: “Link-ups like this benefit both parties.

“It gave our students the chance to pass on some of their skills and experiences of Photoshop and hopefully the teachers can use the worksheets in the classroom back at school.”
