Crewe School Opens New Centre

KING’S Grove School in Crewe welcomed civic leaders last week at the official opening of a new building.

The school’s Brownson Centre incorporates ICT suites and a conference room.

The official opening was attended by the Mayor of Cheshire East Margaret Simon, Edward Timpson MP, and Linda Brownson, wife of former deputy head teacher Howard Brownson, after whom the centre is named.

The opening was linked to a celebration of enterprise where the work of pupils was recognised and Enterprise Awards were given out. This whole event was hosted solely by pupils at the school and Mrs Brownson, said a few words as the centre was opened.

Assistant head teacher Carol Jones said: “There is also more good news for the school as we have gained funding for further new developments. “We shall soon have state of the art Astro Turf pitches available and following this, another new build! “This will be a dedicated drama and music suite. Certainly exciting times are ahead at King’s Grove, as our facilities get even better.”
