YOUNG musician Laura Stubbs has received a cash boost to help her buy a new instrument for university.
Talented musician Laura was presented with a cheque for £500 by the founder of South Cheshire Young Musicians David Ketley, at a concert at Crewe Hall.
Laura, aged 17, applied to SCYM for help towards buying a new saxophone, which she needs before entering university later this year to start a three year music course.
Presenting the cheque, David said: “We were delighted to be able to help such a talented young musician who has been a regular performer at many SCYM concerts over the past five years.”
Laura’s first public performance on the new instrument will be at the St George’s day concert in Nantwich Methodist Church on April 23.
